Since our founding in 2001, ATRS has been one of the fastest growing textile recycling companies in the U.S.  Currently we divert over a 100000 tons per year from the solid waste streams of cities in Texas, Arizona, Colorado and Michigan. 

With the average American discarding about 68 pounds of textiles  per year generating 11.9 million tons of textiles waste annually, and only 1.9 million tons recycled there’s a great deal of work to be done.

ATRS was founded on a unique concept that we could recycle in a manner termed as “reuse” and leave an extremely small “carbon footprint”.   We work directly with local, registered 501c3 Non-Profit Organizations in a community recycling partnership.

Growth
Over the past decade, ATRS has grown from a single market to 7 cities in 4 states.  Over that period we have removed over 20,000,000 tons of textile waste from municipal waste streams.

Going Forward
Keeping textiles out of landfills is no small task.  At ATRS we understand the magnitude of this challenge for organizations with tight schedules and tighter budgets limit cities and communities to seasonal or disaster response programs.  We work with cities, school districts and businesses who need and want comprehensive solutions to cost effectively implement a recycling program that helps them do their part in preserving the planet for future generations.
